The course lasts 4 hours and includes :

Sampling and safe management of asbestos

Objectives : To be able to perform asbestos characterization for a building in compliance with RSST rules and the Quebec Construction Code. Learn about the rights and obligations of workers and employers, the health effects of exposure to asbestos, the different types of worksites and possible interventions on asbestos-containing materials.

Asbestos decontamination procedures

Objectives: Understand the rights and obligations of workers and employers, and the health effects of exposure to asbestos. Understand what constitutes low-, medium- and high-risk worksites, asbestos removal methods and procedures, and possible interventions on asbestos-containing materials. Be able to interpret a laboratory report on daily air fiber measurements.
