Sampling","og_description":"Here you will find the sampling procedure according to the type of sample to be taken: Mold (surface) Iron ochre Asbestos and vermiculite MOLD (SURFACE) Surface sampling is used to confirm the presence of mold growth on a surface and to identify its type. This is done with clear, transparent adhesive tape. Rate ? : $178.50 ATTENTION It is very important not to touch the sticky part of the tape, or the sample is taken with the fingers throughout the operation, to avoid contamination. Equipment required Adhesive tape clear and transparent Ziploc bagMarker Sampling steps 1. Take a piece of tape and fold over the edge on one side to avoid contaminating the tape with your fingers.2. Stick the sticky part of the tape to the desired sample surface and press with your hand to adhere the particles.3. Slowly remove the tape from the surface4. Stick the tape to the plastic inside the Ziploc bag.5. If possible, mark the area to be analyzed on the ribbon and seal the bag.6. Take a photo of the sampling area and attach it to the application. (Optional)7. Complete and attach the following analysis request: HERE. Your sample type is number 7: Adhesive tape. Transport ? Transporting this type of sample does not require any special conditions, but it is very important that the samples do not freeze. Send your sample to one of our drop-off points. FERROUS OCRE This analysis determines the presence or absence of ferrobacteria. Rate ? : $168.00 Equipment required Clean, airtight container (e.g. Masson jar) Sampling steps 1. Using your clean container, remove any ochre deposits (ochre-coloured slime) from the catch basin or non-return valve. If few deposits are present, include water from the drain or retention basin.2. Take a photo of the sampling site and attach it to the application. (Optional)3) Complete and attach the following analysis request form to your sample: HERE. Your sample type is number 8: Iron ochre. Transport ? Transporting this type of sample does not require any special conditions, but please ensure that your container is well wrapped if you send it to us by post. Send your sample to one of our drop-off points. ASBESTOS AND VERMICULITE This sampling is used to detect the presence of asbestos in different types of materials. The sampling method varies according to the type of material. Asbestos rate ?: $105.00 Vermiculite rate ?: $175.00 ATTENTION Tools, if used, should be cleaned in soapy water between samples to avoid cross-contamination. During sampling, it is important to minimize dust emissions as much as possible. In addition, it is important that samples are sent to the laboratory in lined, leakproof plastic bags (Ziploc type). The sample must contain portions taken from 3 different locations, e.g. in the attic, samples can be taken from the center, the left and the right. It’s important to include in the sample the vermiculite found completely underneath the layer of insulation to get the dust or small fragments, since asbestos fragments are often small and therefore tend to sink over time. Equipment required Protective gloves (or hand wash after sampling)Respirator (e.g. N95 or P100)2 watertight Ziploc-type plastic bags Vermiculite sampling steps 1. Make sure you are wearing the necessary protective gear.2. Fill at least one 30cm (12″-style freezer-size) watertight plastic bag.3. Secure the sample in another bag to double the protection. (View image)4. Complete and attach the following analysis request form to your sample: HERE. Your sample type is number 9: Asbestos – Bulk Materials (MLP). Sampling steps for surface materials 1. Make sure you have the necessary protection.2. Remove a minimum of 5 cm x 5 cm (2”x2”) from the surface to be analyzed.3. Secure the sample in another bag to double the protection. (View image)4. Make sure you have removed all layers likely to contain asbestos.5. Complete and attach the following analysis request form to your sample: HERE. Your sample type is number 9: Asbestos – Bulk Materials (MLP). Transport ?
